Awards and Special Recognition
This year (2019) 8th grade student Seven Jones and 6th grade student Alyssa Gatcomb were awarded 1st place for their Outdoor Classroom proposal! They not only designed an outdoor classroom space, but they estimated the cost of supplies, reached out for community support and presented their work in front of a panel judges! We couldn't be more proud!

Anne Arundel County Art Recycling Contest
Also this year (2020) the Environment Club's very own Reece Stephanoff won first place in the Anne Arundel county Recycling Art Contest! As you can see, she worked incredibly hard on her masterpiece titled "Building a Snowman" from all recyclable material! Way to go Reece!
Every year, our PVA art teacher Mrs. Hacker, works with her students to compete in the Anne Arundel County Art Recycling Contest. Last year (2019), BPMS students won 1st and 2nd place!!! Nice job ladies! Thank you for your dedication towards recycling and the arts!
This year BPMS students took home 8 Science Fair awards from the Anne Arundel county Science and Engineering Expo for 2019!

Samantha Sims (7th grade) for How to Revive Dead Markers
8th Grade winner Neha Mammen also won the Broadcom MASTERS Outstanding Middle School award, the AACPS Promising Scientist Award in Health, and the United States Coast Guard Certificate of Recognition!!

This year (2019) the SHAPE Maryland Honors & Awards Committee has selected our own Mr. Postell as a Simon McNeely Award recipient for demonstrating outstanding teaching, service, and innovation in Physical Education!! Mr. Postell goes above and beyond to keep our students active, healthy, and engaged in the school community.
Energy Savings Challenge
Every Christmas break our school participates in the Anne Arundel County Christmas Energy Savings Challenge. This year (2019) our school won 4th place with a reduction of 10%.
And last year (2018) we won 2nd!
