Mrs. Barbee's 6th grade class enjoying nature!

As you can see our teachers and staff LOVE plants! They can be found in almost every classroom in the building. However, due to unforeseen school closure, Mrs. Shakan took all of our beloved plants home to take care of them! Thank you Mrs. Shakan for loving our plants!

Mr. Fein and Mrs. Barbee took their Environment Club members on community clean-up walks every Monday during the fall season!

Our Mission
Here at BPMS we strive to promote environmental sustainability and conservation. Our mission is to empower and educate our students, staff, and community about the importance of reducing carbon emissions, reducing waste, and reconnecting with the natural world. Through environmental literacy and project-based learning, BPMS students are developing the skills and experiences necessary to become the next generation of environmental leaders and protectors of our beautiful Chesapeake Bay.
Our students are growing more than just their passions and skills! Since last year our students have planted and maintained the front garden beds, have learned to grow vegetables with hydroponics, and this spring BPMS is ready to grow its first outdoor edible garden! Check out our indoor hydroponic garden and our plans for this spring!

BPMS would like to extended a heart-felt thank you to our community sponsors for their ongoing commitment, time, and generous contributions. Because of their support, BPMS students have been given amazing opportunities to learn and engage in real-world sustainable practices that support the health and wellbeing of our school community and Chesapeake watershed.
Thank you for ALL that you do!
